Looking Back at Feeding Farmville 2025
A message from the 2025 Planning Committee
As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Feeding Farmville, we give thanks to a God whose greatness cannot be outdone. God promises to sustain us in many ways, assuring us that we are never alone and that all our needs will be met. This divine promise provides comfort and confidence, knowing that His love and care are unconditional and always with us.
Most importantly, the Bible reveals the depth of His love: "...God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). This sacrificial act shows His unwavering commitment to our salvation and His desire for us to experience His grace and mercy.
Feeding Farmville has united our community for over a decade, with the sole mission of sharing God’s unconditional love. Volunteers and those who receive meals alike experience blessings through a meal, a friendly smile, a prayer, and taking the time to ask how they are doing. This act of “feeding God’s sheep” brings hope and comfort, reminding our neighbors that they are remembered and cherished.
Dorothy, an elderly widow from Meherrin, said she and her neighbors gather together at one of their homes to share this Thanksgiving meal. “This is the greatest program," she said. “We are all elderly, so we don’t get out much and are unable to cook a big meal.”
Shane, a college student home on school break, said, “Seeing so many people come together to make sure families have a great Thanksgiving is heartwarming and feels amazing to be a part of…” It’s a reminder of God’s blessings in our lives.
In addition to thanking God, we thank YOU! We are thankful for everyone who helped to make this happen and played a part in planning, preparing, packaging, and delivering 1,085 meals for Feeding Farmville in 2025. We rejoice in the hundreds of individual volunteers and over 60 community partners who came together again this year to share God’s unconditional love on Thanksgiving!
